Great Website Content – Produce and Protect it

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Our next Business Link seminar series has been finalised, this next event is really important from anyone who is getting reasonable traffic to their site but visits are not converting into enquries. The session looks at the importance of effective website copy to achieve your goals, and also how to protect it once you’ve created it.

There is also more information on my previous blog article IP & Copyright for websites if you are wondering what the topic is about.

If you have not yet optimised your site, or looked at the conversion topic then I would recommend watching our previous seminar podcasts so that you are up to speed.

Outline of the seminar is below, you can download the seminar pdf for more information and dates or visit the website to book.

I would highly recommend attending this session as think it will be of great value, by all means get in touch if you would like to discuss.

“When potential customers visit your website you must give them reasons to stay, purchase goods/services and become advocates of your business.

Search engines may help people to find your site but it is the quality and clarity of your site’s content that will build solid customer relationships and drive up business. Learn how to tailor your website’s content to the needs of your potential customers and present them with compelling sales messages.

The Future Office – November Events

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

In a slight departure from our normal website topic based seminars, in our November seminar series we will be taking a look at online and remote working technologies to benefit your business.

Technology has now enabled businesses to be available and “on-line” 24/7, enabling rich context communication via web cams, video phones, Skype, broadband and virtual interactive environments. The advantages of using such technologies; reduced travel, quicker response times, environmental benefits and fewer missed opportunities, are many and significant. However, to harness such potential benefits requires careful planning and management — unless of course you want them to manage you!

The seminars will be a good catch up for those thinking about using Skype for their business, and there should be a show case of gadgets available on the day also.

As usual various dates around the South East starting in November, visit our Innovation Events page for more details or to book.

Website Conversion Problems – Solved!

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Website owners often invest a lot of time and money into optimisation of their ecommerce or business website, but find that it fails to generate sales, leads or enquiries. This usually hints that either the optimisation is being targeted incorrectly so the wrong traffic is coming to the site, or the site is not convincing enough to convert visitors to customers.

My previous post looked at how small business owners can improve their content with to put the basic building blocks in place, if you thought that topic was useful then I bring news of a new free Business Link seminar! This session will cover conversion, taking the basic ideas from our previous Google Analytics session, getting more involved in measuring visitor behaviour on the site, giving tips on how you can use tools to assess which version of a page is more powerful, watch where visitors click on your site and the path they take.

This Business Link seminar on website conversions is a must attend for anyone who is serious about their site generating sales leads and increasing enquiries. We are joined by Adrian Durow an experienced conversion specialist from Refreshed Media, I’ve seen the run through of the presentation and think it will be a really good session. To book your free place at one of our sessions in the South East visit the Business Link events page at http://www.innovationevents.co.uk

Reading SEO 2.0 & Google Analytics event

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Great to see nearly 70 of you at the Business Link Search Engine event last night at Green Park. The evening had a really good buzz to it and there seemed to be some useful networking taking place. Good to see so many familiar faces in the audience.

Feedback from you all was greatly appreciated, it is always hard to pitch content to appeal to as many as possible, on the whole feedback scores are really good and a number of excellents so thank you for that. We will be making a couple of tweaks to the presentation to take into account a couple of comments given, as we have another five events around the South East to go.

The questions at the end of the sessions were really interesting to hear, and hope you all got a chance to raise your own. If you didn’t or have thought of any since please do use this as a platform to ask or to keep us updated on how your efforts are going, and tricks or tips that you find along the way. You can also email me at my Business Link address or find me on LinkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/in/jamesccope

Technology permitting we will be podcasting the event so that you can recap on the presentation when you need too, my colleague Sarah will be putting the note round when this is up and running. I would expect this to be availble early July but don’t hold me to that. In the meantime you can download the presentation from http://www.internetconsultantsgroup.co.uk/internet_resources/seminars.html

One of our delegates, Nigel Woods, has also give me details of a Chartered Institute of Marketing event this Thursday on Web 2.0 and social marketing if anyone is interested. They will open up the event to any of you that wish to attend, details of which can be found on my events page.

We are currently developing the August/September seminar which will build on the basics of this seminar to look at website conversions and email marketing tp help develop your web presence a step further so what this space!
